Today's Match
YAY! ^___^
Since this is my first thread, so i'll naturally dedicate it to a football subject So here it is: If you like football then brace yourself. because starting from tomorrow I will post in here saying whenever there is a football match somewhere in the world (yes, the world ) It will be all my own work and thought it's not complete yet, I will cover fixtures of the following competitions: I - Nations: - World Cup (ALL continents' qualifications) which is South Africa 2010 - Confederations Cup (ALL continents' qualifications) Which is South Africa 2009 II - Clubs: - Club World Cup (ALL continents' qualifications) which is Japan 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later to be added: important matches of the following National Leagues: - Africa (Algeria – Angola – Cameroon – Egypt – Ivory Coast – Morocco – South Africa – Tunisia) - Asia (Iran – Japan – Korea Republic – Saudi Arabia) - Europe (Austria – Belgium – Bulgaria – Croatia – Czech – Denmark – England – France – Germany – Greece – Italy – Netherlands – Norway – Poland – Portugal – Romania – Russia – Scotland – Spain – Sweden – Switzerland – Turkey – Ukraine) - N/C America (Mexico – USA) - South America (Argentina – Brazil – Chile – Colombia – Paraguay – Uruguay) Along with their Cup and Super Cup matches Note: Don't feel sorry for me if no one will read it, I'm posting it in many sites + it may help me to stay active in here Note2: Any asian related talk other than asian football will be punished by slow sadistic torture to the person in question, followed by beheading and dismemberment, then further cutting into tiny pieces.... which will be set on fire; THEN the ashes will be fired from a canon into a black hole in space just for further disntegration *grin* *finaly takes his breath* Now that i cleared these matters i really hope someone (or more than only one ^.^) will come to like this thread! til tomorrow then !

Re: Today's Match
A few concepts if u're new to the football world
# A continent's Champions League is a tournament in which national champion clubs of their nations compete against each other, the ultimate prize becoming The Champion Club of its continent and qualifiying for the ultimate Club World Cup which gathers each continent's champion in a final tournament to determine the Champion Club of the World. note that: South America is the only continent calling its international club tournament Copa Libertadores instead of Champions league. # Each continent has a football federation with abbreviation letters as shown below: CAF -> Africa (Confederation Africaine du Football and so on...) AFC -> Asia UEFA -> Europe CONMEBOL -> South America CONCACAF -> North and Central America OFC -> Oceanic continent (That's australia mate 0.0) # A few last concepts used in the game Quarter final (last 8 teams) Semi final (last 4) Final (...self-explanatory) 2 legged match (when 2 teams competing against each other play a match on each's stadium which makes the total of their matches... 2 ^.^) Aggregate (The sum of the goals scored in a 2 legged match*) UEFA Champions League: Catch up:There are 7 teams qualified for the quarter final and the last team to join them will be determined by the following match Internazionale Milan (Italy) vs. Liverpool (England) [Last 16 Knockout Stage] {Previous score: Liv 2-0 Inter} CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores: Catch up: there are 8 groups each of 4 teams, after playing against each other twice (once on each team's stadium) -a total of 6 games- the best 2 teams out of each group qualifies for the last 16 knockout round Real Potosi (Bologna) vs. San Lorenzo (Argentina) [Group Stage] {Group positions 4th-3rd} Cienciano (Peru) vs. Coronel Bolognesi (Peru) [Group Stage] {Group positions 4th-3rd} Guadalajara (Mexico) vs. Cucuta Deportivo (Colombia) [Group Stage] {Group positions 2nd-3rd} CONCACAF Champions League: Catch up: there are only 8 teams left to compete, we r in the quarter final and each 2 teams are paired and will play 2 matches (again; one on each's stadium) Motagua (Honduras) vs. Pachuca (Mexico) [Quarter Final] (first leg) MORE TO COME SOON, i hope you become intrested as I'll tend to improve this page ^.^ til tomorrow!

How sure are you of that? Neither of the experienced players like Luis Figo or Pedro Pauleta playing, Portugal is a great team at the moment, but absence of experienced players can clearly affect a team's performance
