Re: turn of events that lead to ff7
FF6 was about a blone up Earth becasue of the Magi War. I t didn't have magic in the beginning. It was 2-D and was generally about not repeating past mistakes.
FF7 has magic everywhere and has both science and magic. Has nothing to do about past repetition and is 3-D.

This thread has gone off-topic for long enough. Either post on-topic or don't post at all.

Re: turn of events that lead to ff7
My opinion: FFVI DID make VII great - reason: a lot of people talked about VI. How great the storyline was and graphics (for that period) were and more and more people started to pick up FF's. Suddenly, there was quite the explosion when VII came out because of all the hype of the people. Since then, almost every FF has built on or borrowed from the previous title. More and more people are aware of the title and more and more copies of the games are bought.

Re: turn of events that lead to ff7
The above comment is true.
You can also see how future final fantasies have evolved and borrowed the odd idea from previous final fantasies, e.g shadows dog attacking enemies if he is attacked, rinoas dog attacking if she is attacked, equiping espers to learn spells, equiping items in ff9 to learn spells and abilities etc.
