How do we say "Nice to meet you, too", in answer to Hajimemashite, Sensei?
Ohh.... and arigatou, Jake-san! ^^ btw... In a previous post, when I asked we we say "Hello"... We meet someone in the street, what do we say? o.O We start a conversation in MSN Messenger, what do we say? Someone is introduced to us, what do we say? |

Re: The Learn Japanese Thread =O
Well because the Japanese language works in a diffrent order than English dose, your answer back to someone who says "Hajimemashite" dosen't really need to happen, you'll find a simple bow will do the trick, however you can also reply Hajimemashite back and it would mean "Nice to meet you too" or "Nice to meet you as well". It would also be really polite to add the persons name in there. For example:
Tifa: Watashi wa Tifa desu, Hajimemashite. *bows* Spec: *bows* Hajimemashite Tifa-san. Watashi wa Spec-desu. When meeting someone in the streets, a simple bow will do the trick. You'll find bowing to someone can do just as much and not have to say anything at all. Then again depending on the time of day you can say the following. In the morning: Ohaiyou, and to be formal, Ohaiyou Gosaimasu *Note: You only say Ohaiyou to someone until 11 Am, after that until around 5 Pm is it Konnichi wa. In the afternoon: Konnichi wa In the Evening *after 5 PM*: Kobanwa Then if you were leaving someone or someones house after 5 Pm, you would say: Oyasumi Nasai which is good night. You can also just say Sayonara When talking to someone on a chat you really don't have to be formal at all so greetings can be multipul things such as the following for example Yo- Litteraly Yo Konnichi wa- Hello, Hey Genki Desu ka- How are you Kawatta Koto aru - What's New? Nanika atta- whats up? Dou Shiteru- Hows everything?

You have to tell us how things are pronounced, too, someday =P
I am sure that I know how to pronounce: Konnichi wa Genki desu ka Hajimemashite Watashi wa Spec desu Sayonara

Re: The Learn Japanese Thread =O
Ehh... Good point... Lol... Yes, we do, but I wish I had a choice of the classes I could take. We have two Integrated Studies periods, and elective. There's a period for Academy/Advisory depending on the day, but we don't do anything in that class. I have 4 classes throughout the day... How queer

Spanish doesn't really interest me... It's really similar to portuguese... but I do study French, and I find it important (not as much as english, though)
